For a Service dealing with issues of Depression and Suicide Prevention

PRAYER FOR AND ASSURANCE OF GRACE

God we live in a world where so many people are hurting.

And so we wrestle with how best to speak to their pain.

We are taught to love each other as we have been loved.

Which is hard, because we are so good at building up walls.

We are encouraged to put our love and care into action, to seek to understand each other's pain.

But we aren't sure how to do that, how to have the hard discussions.

God of love, who calls us to be people of love,

help us to find the way to open up to each other, to share the hard stories, to be there and offer help and support.

...time of silent prayer...

God calls us to be agents of love an support in the world. Through grace, God equips us to respond to that call and works through our intentions and actions.

COMMISSIONING:

We are called to be people who live a life of love.

And so we go into the world to show love to our neighbours.

We are called to bear the light of God into the dark places of the world.

And so we go to meet people in their time of pain and darkness with words of love and support.

We are called to be people of hope.

And so we go to share words of hope in the face of despair.

Go with God, Love, Lover, and Beloved.
