PRAYER
FOR & ASSURANCE OF GRACE
God
you challenge us to be bold and daring as we live into your Kingdom,
asking
us to take risks, calling us to flip over the tables of injustice.
While
we hear the call, while we see the need for things to change,
we
are often uneasy when it comes to making too much noise,
we
don’t want to make a scene,
we
would rather not risk painting a target on our backs.
Fill
us, we pray, with a passion for justice
give
us, we pray, a consuming zeal for your Reign.
And
when the risk seems too much,
help
us to know when it is best to act and when to wait,
give
us the courage to take the risk when it is our time to act.
The
God we meet in Scripture, who speaks through the prophets, who walked
on earth in Jesus continues to meet us in our every day life. God
continues to lead us to a new world where justice flows like water
and peace like an ever-flowing stream. Through Grace we are made new
as we grow in courage and boldness, we are changed to be daring
risk-takers.
May
we continue to grow in faith, in hope, and in love. Amen.
